San Diego's 1st Annual Vday Pillow Fight

On the evening of Valentine's Day
Sharon, Szandra, Lila, Chris, & Ivan
attended the First Annual Vday Pillow fight in SD!
We all had a blast.
Arriving with our 'hidden' pillows in bags, [some girls cleverly stuffed their tummies with them]
was quite interesting as people could identify each other as there for the action of the event.
The reactions were silly as we got pointed at by two guys waiting, smiling, & laughing with their pillow bags, or noticed others & would point in excitment.
I never heard the whistle sound but a guy ran with his pillow as if a Spartan yelling.
It was crazy! & my poor camera slipped out of my hand but survived the experience.
Photographers lined the borders of the fight trying to capture history as it happened.
I'm sure many of us left with minor headaches & walking around with no longer hidden pillows was not weird at all.
Turns out a Facebook random advertised event to strangers wasn't bad. ;)
p.s. I still laugh about the creepy, partially bald old guy who was there... reminds me of the stereotypical internet pedifiles our parents caution us about.... funny but NOT.

Straight from the FB event invite-
WHY:
All over the world, groups organize free, fun, all ages, non-commercial public events. From a massive Mobile Clubbing event in a London train station to a giant pillow fight near the Eiffel Tower in Paris to a subway party beneath the streets of Toronto, it is clear that the urban playground is growing around the world, a playful part of the larger public space movement.
One of the goals is to make these unique happenings in public space become a significant part of popular culture, partially replacing passive, non-social, branded consumption experiences like watching television, and consciously rejecting the blight on our cities caused by the endless creep of advertising into public space. Even more so in the case of "Hallmark" holidays like that of Valentine's Day.
The goal is to create a global community of participants, not consumers, in a world where people are constantly organizing and attending these happenings in every major city in the world.

ooxxooXoXXx

Today I have come up with a fabulous new idea.
I was thinking of how I am so in love with Valentine's day.
It's cute & always wonderful.
If only everyday was Valentine's day.
So why not make Valentine's last all year?!
I'm doing it.
I will cut out 365 hearts with lovely quotes, scriptures, uplifting words, favors/offers to do for people, & blank ones to add compliments later.
Everyday starting today I will send or leave a heart for someone.
Sometimes in secret, sometimes known...
to family, friends, coworkers, patients, church members, acquaintances, strangers, & cute boys ;) I already know who is getting my first heart
& cannnot wait to start!

People are so nice today: Already I have received many smiles from strangers & 2 friendly faces have let me go ahead of them on the road even though it was their turns. I can feel the love.

Happy Valentine's Day!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!! <3

This is absolutely one of my favorite holidays.... no cliche.

Everywhere you see hearts, roses, balloons, chocolates, families, cards, teddy bears, smiles, couples, sweetness, pink & red, and so forth.

I love surprising people & I love coming up with creative, silly, & cute ideas.

Valentine's Day isn't just about the hot date at night. I love to take advantage of the entire day.

I love LOVE.

From heart shaped pancakes covered in sweet strawberries & syrup to that beautiful sunset at night- ENJOY the day!

Since all of my Amazing V-day surprises can't be used now since I'm saving them up for a special someone I have to come up alternative fun & cute things to do.

I'm thinking today is going to be a BLAST! :]

I hope everyone loves the surprises I have for them.

Oh by the way......

I Love to see the Temple

I'm going there someday.
Family tree. I'm so happy I was sealed to my family for time & all eternity in the temple.

Hostess Cupcakes

When I arrived in San Diego I was craving Hostess Cupcakes for some time but decided since I was going to help my sister eat healthy for the baby that I would refrain from buying them otherwise I'd be eating the box all by myself..... no bueno I guess.

They were EVERYWHERE!!!

I went to Vons to pick up Green Apples my sister was craving and some Ice Cream I found on sale that I just couldn't pass up. I saw a teeny pack of 2 cupcakes calling my name......NO. Then the boxes of cupcakes practically yelled at me. I won! The next day there they were at the gas station. The day after that at another store. Finally I surrendered when grocery shopping with my sister- she suggested them since they were on sale & I didn't argue. We bought 2 boxes & hid them in my room. I ate all but 2 from the first box in a few days. I pretty much ate the 2nd box all by myself. Tonight I got mooooooooooooooooore. Rain couldn't stop me.... not at all. :]
i heart Hostess Cupcakes............mmmmmmmm mmmmm good!

Vivian

Compliment:
Vivian is such a sweet girl. I had a fun time playing Phase 10 with her at Volleyball/Activity Night on Thursday as well as at Bishop Chavez's house Friday night. She definitely owns in that game. She is very cute & it's impossible to not smile when she is around. Today we got to share a Giant Joseph Smith church manual in Relief Society. We giggled because it was HUGE & we felt silly staring at ginormous words.
Snaps for Vivian!

Robert Laurentz

Compliment:
Robert is a very cool guy. I'd seen him at FHE before but Friday evening at Bishop Chavez's house we officially met. He is a very neat person to talk to & the conversation is never dull. He's my new friend at church. I love meeting people & making friends. He also texts me quite a bit & we make plans to do things or he invites me along. I love feeling like I'm out of my lonely rut I've managed to get into in Utah. Yay Friends! I also love the way his last name is spelled.
Snaps for Robert

RAiN

It's raining! :]
I'm happy.
I love the sound of rain falling.
It's so peaceful & pleasant.
I also am excited to sleep in the bed Mahonri just put together for me tonight.
It's TWiN size!!!!!!!!!!!
I like smaller beds.
I came into my room & just smiled because I was so excited.
It's like a kid who just got to rearrange their room.... very fun.
Good Night & Sweet Dreams <3

i love.....

feeling like the happiest girl in the world.
When after much thought all I can do is smile
because I know I am blessed & watched over,
because I know he has a plan
because I know he exists
because I know life is a miracle
because I know there is no need to worry
Because he loves me.

trees

I took these pictures when we let the rattle snake go. They are gloomy but beautiful nonetheless. The trees are amazing how they have grown in the middle of the water.

Baby Registry

Today Jen & I went to Target to scan items for her baby registry. It was an exhausting shopping experience, perhaps because I'm sleepier than usual today, but it was very exciting. Mom helped us remember key things to look for. We found many cute things & I couldn't resist buying his first Rubber Ducky which is a Pirate & adorably silly bodysuits:

"when mommy says no, ask Grandma"
"I'm a cutie, My mom's a babe, And my dad totally rocks"

Optimism!

Half empty or half full? Definitely haf full. Left to Right: Weston, Sharon, Szandra, Simione, Ivan, Valerie

At FHE last night Weston gave a talk on optimism. I would like to point out he did a wonderful job. Great speaker. I have been trying to keep my blog focused on the positive things (refer to post 'From A Princess') & after his talk I am reminded of being not only optimistic in my blog but on a day to day basis in my words, actions, & thoughts. I hope to compliment people more & turn negative attitudes into good. I will be posting compliments to others on my blog as well.

Parking Lot Pictures

Sunday Sweetness

I went to the San Diego Temple after Break the Fast today :]
It was closed for maintenance but I got a close up & it was delightful compared to the distance pics I've been getting. Can't wait to go again.
