Make A WiSH

Remember as a child, blowing .&. making wishes on these 'Dandelion weeds'?
I recall doing so in Elementary school and then carrying the stem around with me in my sock.

Or perhaps the tiny blue ones on a bush between our house & the next-door neighbor's that I'd suck on because they tasted like sweet honey.
Or the sour yellow ones across the street at John's House..... we were strange kids.

His BeLOVEed Snake

The white snake I previously posted pics of on my Woman blog has passed away.
I know this blog is supposed to be more about the positive things
but I was very grateful to have finally braved up & hold her before she went.
It was one of Mahonri's most mellow snakes.
Yesterday it reeked when me & Jen got home and we found something nasty-looking in the snakes' house. It was a rat that had been thrown up.It makes me want to vomit so I warn you, but I thought it was crazy neat how it kept the shape of the snake's body.
Mahonri suggested that maybe the rat ate some of the rattle snakes poo-poo & when he became dinner it poisoned the other snake.

Bless Her Heart!

Bye-Bye Rattle Snake

Mahonri caught a Rattle Snake quite awhile back.
He kept it in a glass home in the garage which made going into the garage creepy especially after we found out one of the Rosey Boas escaped we thought how terrible it would be if Mr.Rattle did.

We took him for a little trip to free him back into the wild.
It was difficult finding a place since we didn't want him to be near homes, people, playgrounds, the road, etc.

It didn't take Danny & Mahonri very long to get to the lower level.

However me & Jen took longer esp. being careful so she wouldn't fall with a baby on board. I ran down & tried to convince her it was easy so I ran back up to demonstrate & wow me & my new fear of heights got to me.

He was released into the wild & then Mahonri got a picture at perfect timing with his tongue out.

Glucose-Schmucose

This morning I accompanied Jennifer to her first Ever Glucose test.
The doctor told her he didn't want her stomach to be completely empty but fast overnight.
He recommened toast and an egg early morning & to come in mid-morning.
She cheated with a bit of Peanut Butter so we discussed whether or not this would have an effect on her results.
I informed her that I hear the test is awful since you have to down this drink of glucose that tastes bad. Apparently others had told her the same thing.
Directions: Basically you have to chug that thing down within the next 5 minutes... It's 10:32 AM
First Sip...... Reaction: "It's not bad. It's regular- like orange soda."
About halfway through.
Mommy's first glucose test.
Last Swallow...
All Done!
She definitely chugged it before the 5 minute mark, so apparently it's not that bad.

A Testimony with Certainty

After my scripture study & prayer this morning I referred to lds.org which is a great library of topics and gospel tools. Upon inquiring I came across this in a talk titled, "The Power of a Strong Testimony":

"In this uncertain world, there are some things that never change: the perfect love of our Heavenly Father for each of us; the assurance that He is there and will always hear us; the existence of absolute, unchanging truths; the fact that there is a plan of happiness; the assurance that success in life is attained through faith in Jesus Christ and obedience to His teachings because of the redemptive power of His Atonement; the certainty of life after death; the reality that our condition there is set by how we live here. Whether one does or does not accept these truths does not alter their reality. They are the fundamental building blocks of a living testimony. A strong testimony is the unshakable foundation of a secure, meaningful life where peace, confidence, happiness, and love can flourish. It is anchored in a conviction that an all-knowing God is in command of His work. He will not fail. He will keep His promises."
-Richard G. Scott

The spirit was strong with me this morning and I was off to a good start. I love this quote!

iCE SKATiNG

Today Me and Mahonri went Ice Skating in La Jolla with Jennifer's YMCA elementary students. This I have been wanting to do for awhile now since it's been too long since the last time I did. the Experience:
All the student's kept coming up to me asking "Are you Miss Jennifer's sister?" I met a funny, neat boy who was not shy at all and followed me around a bit. He told me how he had mistaken me for being Miss Jennifer but then realized there was something off. It was cute when he put his hands to his face and zonked his head to emphasize "Silly me".

Later on the ice I'd ran into him again like an old friend. At this point me and Mahonri pretty much owned in skating but noticed the little ones were showing us up with crazy tricks & SKATING BACKWARDS! I tried it but decided to hold onto the wall to start. That little boy came up to me thinking I was trying to figure out how to skate forward saying,

"Oh it's okay you just pretend you're walking- baby steps, like this!" ::boy.demonstrates::

Instead of arguing that I was actually trying to skate backwards & that's why I held onto the wall for help, I let him believe otherwise so that when I turned around to skate forward and could do it, he was quite impressed.

Mahonri pointed out blood on the ice to me. Uh-Oh! :/
Jen warned me to stay away from one of the boys because he had been on the ground fall after fall the entire time. Sure enough as she pointed him out he reminded me of Bambi when his legs were separated as he lay fallen on the ice.
Mahonri and I came to the conclusion that the blood was probably from this very boy.

Did I fall you wonder? Of course not. However I came close to falling a couple times. I got speed & then for some stupid reason decided I wanted to stop so as I went into the wall a little angled and tried to catch my hand with the wall, I jammed my nail. It hurt awhile but all was good.

I did an awesome 720 turn. I meant to show off a small 360 to Mahonri as I imitated the kids, but couldn't stop myself so it ended up being a very ungraceful, look-at-her-scared-face-720-turn. We laughed. My mother loves to watch the Ice Skating shows & competitions so it's something I enjoy as well. Being on the ice today reminded me that skating, doing an incredible jump, AND landing it safely is absolutely Talent.

3-Dimensional FUN

Last night me and Chrissy were bored so we decided last minute to see a movie. After we inquired of showtimes to fit our sudden decision to go to the theatres we watched several previews to help us select a movie. And there it was Disney's BOLT 3-D. I was very excited since 3D shows are BomB! Tickets cost around $25 for two.... WHAT!?!? Are you kidding me? Apparently they charge extra for the glasses and well, movies run about 10 buckaroos in SD anyway......rip-off! I thought the glasses were trippy & throughout the movie kept moving them up and down to peer at the screen with my naked eyes. It was a cute movie & the little boy with his parents in front of us laughed tons. Why on earth parents would take their little boy to a movie that late beats me.

Chris claims he saw a mouse at the end. I of course lifted my feet and purse onto the seats immediately. When we were leaving to the parking lot we saw how cool the glasses were & decided to go camera crazy.....the result.......a Lot of pictures.
